The work runs on Yahuah (God)’s provision through His people. Three biblical categories — one heart, one Father, one harvest.
Scripture names three forms of giving the covenant household practiced and the prophets defended. They are not interchangeable, and they are not optional decoration on top of grace. They are how the family of the Father feeds the work and feeds each other.
The tenth. The portion Torah set apart for the work and for the worker (Numbers 18, Deuteronomy 14). Abraham tithed before Levi was born; Yahusha (Jesus) said the tithe of mint and cumin should not have been left undone (Matthew 23:23). The tenth is how the camp keeps the lampstand lit and the priest fed.
The Torah word is tzedakah — righteousness, justice, charity to the poor. The leaving of the corners of the field (Leviticus 19:9), the tenth-of-the-third-year for the stranger and the widow (Deuteronomy 14:28–29), the open hand to the brother in need (Deuteronomy 15:7–11). Alms is the family taking care of the family.
The freewill portion. Whatever the heart prompts above and beyond the tithe and the alms — the burnt offering of thanksgiving, the wave offering of firstfruits, the love-offering of a son to a Father who has been good. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for Yahuah (God) loveth a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).
